1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ResumeOG at resumeog.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and ResumeOG ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, subscribing to a plan, or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, do not use our services, access the Service, or provide any information about yourself including, without limitation, your name, address, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

These Terms are supplemented by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which describe how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you also agree to the terms of those policies.

2. Service Description

ResumeOG is an AI-powered resume building and optimization platform. Our Service provides features including resume creation and editing with professional templates, AI-powered resume parsing and optimization, AI-powered cover letter generation, job description analysis, resume-job compatibility scoring, application tracking, and PDF export.

AI-generated content is provided as suggestions and should always be reviewed by you before use. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated content.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time with reasonable notice to users.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You can register using email and password, or sign in with Google or Microsoft OAuth authentication. When using OAuth, you authorize us to access limited information from your Google or Microsoft account (email, name, and profile picture) solely for authentication and account creation purposes, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.

When registering, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Maintain only one account per person — account sharing is prohibited

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We are not liable for any losses arising from unauthorized use of your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts where age requirements are not met.

4. Billing & Payment

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through a third-party payment processor. We accept major credit and debit cards. You must provide valid and current payment information when subscribing to a paid plan. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.

Automatic Renewal

Paid subscriptions automatically renew each month unless cancelled before the end of the current billing cycle. You will be charged at the beginning of each billing cycle. It is your responsibility to ensure your payment method remains valid and has sufficient funds.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we may retry the charge or suspend your account. We will attempt to notify you of payment failures via email. Continued failure to pay may result in a downgrade to the Free plan.

Taxes

Prices displayed are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any applicable sales tax, VAT, or other taxes imposed by your jurisdiction.

Pricing Changes

We reserve the right to modify pricing with at least 30 days advance notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing cycle. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5. Refund Policy

No Refunds

All subscription fees are non-refundable. ResumeOG operates on a credit-based system, and once credits are allocated to your account, the corresponding charges are final. This applies to monthly subscription fees, partial month usage, and unused credits at the end of a billing cycle.

Exceptions

Refunds may be considered at our sole discretion in the following limited circumstances:

  • Billing errors: Duplicate charges or incorrect amounts charged to your account
  • Extended service outages: Core service unavailability exceeding 72 consecutive hours that prevents access to paid features

To request an exception, contact us through our contact page within 14 days of the charge in question.

Chargebacks

Filing a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card company without first contacting us may result in immediate account suspension. We reserve the right to dispute any chargeback we believe to be illegitimate.

6. Credits & Usage Limits

Each subscription plan includes a specific number of credits for AI resume optimization, AI cover letter generation, and resume uploads. Free plan credits are a one-time allotment provided upon account creation. Paid plan credits are allocated at the beginning of each billing cycle.

  • Unused credits do not roll over to the next billing cycle
  • Credits are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other value
  • Each AI resume optimization, cover letter generation, and resume upload consumes one credit of its respective type
  • Failed operations due to service errors will not consume credits
  • All credits expire at the end of their respective billing cycle
  • Upon account cancellation, remaining credits are forfeited at the end of the current billing cycle

7. Plan Changes

Upgrades

Plan upgrades take effect immediately upon confirmation. You will be charged the full price of the new plan, and a new billing cycle will begin from the date of the upgrade. Credits from the new plan are allocated immediately. Previously unused credits from the old plan are not carried over or refunded.

Downgrades

Plan downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You retain access to your current plan's features until the end of the paid period. Credits will adjust to the new plan level at the start of the next billing cycle. No refunds are provided for mid-cycle downgrades.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No further charges will be made after cancellation. Your account will revert to the Free plan with its associated limitations, including advertisements. No refund is provided for the remainder of the current billing cycle.

Switching from Free to Paid

When upgrading from the Free plan, any remaining one-time credits are forfeited. The new plan's credit allocation applies immediately upon upgrade.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, source code, features, templates, algorithms, branding, logos, and user interface, is the exclusive property of ResumeOG and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our express written permission.

Resume templates provided by ResumeOG are licensed, not sold. You may use templates to create resumes for personal and professional use. You may not redistribute, resell, or sublicense template designs.

DMCA & Copyright

ResumeOG respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on our Service infringes your copyright, please submit a DMCA notice to us through our contact page including: identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the infringing material, your contact information, a good faith statement, a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury, and your signature. We may terminate accounts of repeat copyright infringers.

9. AI-Generated Content

ResumeOG uses AI language models to generate, optimize, and analyze resume and cover letter content. AI-generated content is produced algorithmically and may not be unique — similar inputs may produce similar or identical outputs for different users.

You retain ownership of AI-generated content created through your use of the Service. However, the underlying AI models and algorithms remain the property of their respective providers. We do not claim ownership of content generated for you, and similar content may be independently generated for other users.

We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is original, accurate, or free from errors. AI may produce inaccurate or inappropriate suggestions. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all content before use. You should never include false or misleading information in your resume or cover letter, even if suggested by the AI.

Use of AI features does not guarantee employment, interviews, or any specific outcome in your job search. ResumeOG is a tool to assist your job search — it is not a guarantee of results.

10. User Content & License

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or input into the Service, including resumes, cover letters, personal information, and job descriptions.

By using the Service, you grant ResumeOG a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to process your content through AI services, store your content as necessary for service delivery, and display your content back to you within the application. This license is limited solely to operating the Service. We do not use your content for marketing, advertising, or training AI models.

You are solely responsible for the content you create and submit. You represent that your content does not infringe on any third-party rights. You agree not to upload content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or illegal.

11. Acceptable Use Policy

You may use the Service for lawful purposes related to resume building, cover letter creation, and job application management. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Create resumes or cover letters with intentionally false or fraudulent information
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications
  • Attempt to circumvent credit limits or usage restrictions
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users' use of it
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems

Creating content with intentionally false information — including fabricated employment history, fake degrees, or fraudulent certifications — is strictly prohibited and may constitute fraud under applicable law. You accept full legal responsibility for the content of your resumes and cover letters.

12. Third-Party Services & Advertising

ResumeOG integrates with trusted third-party service providers including:

  • AI services: For resume parsing, optimization, cover letter generation, and scoring. Your content is sent to these providers for processing. Data submitted through our Service is not used to train AI models.
  • Payment processing: A third-party payment processor handles all payments on our behalf. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
  • Advertising: Users on the Free plan will see advertisements served by third-party advertising partners. Paid plan users enjoy an ad-free experience. See our Cookie Policy for details on advertising cookies and how to manage your preferences.

Each provider processes data according to their own terms of service and privacy policies. The Service may contain links to third-party websites — we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

13. Privacy & Data Protection

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. If you are located in the EU/EEA/UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. 14. Warranty Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • Results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RESUMEOG'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO RESUMEOG IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

IN NO EVENT SHALL RESUMEOG BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Damages based on your reliance on AI-generated content
  • Damages arising from your failure to obtain employment or interviews

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ResumeOG, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, content you create or share through the Service, your violation of any third-party rights, or any false or misleading information in your resumes or cover letters.

17. Termination

Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account through your account settings, or by contacting us through our contact page.

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without prior notice if you:

  • Violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Fail to pay subscription fees after notice
  • Engage in activity that harms other users or the Service

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your access to paid features ceases immediately (or at end of billing cycle for voluntary cancellation)
  • Remaining credits are forfeited
  • Server-side data associated with your account will be deleted within 30 days
  • We are not obligated to provide data export after termination

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Intellectual Property, Warranty Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Dispute Resolution.

18. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Informal Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us through our contact page to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will endeavor to resolve disputes within 30 days.

Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitrator's decision is final and binding.

Class Action Waiver

YOU AND RESUMEOG AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

Exceptions & Opt-Out

Either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for infringement of intellectual property rights. Small claims court actions are also exempt from arbitration. You may opt out of binding arbitration by sending written notice to us within 30 days of first accepting these Terms with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out."

19. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes (including changes to pricing, billing, refund, or cancellation policies), we will provide at least 30 days advance notice through prominent notice on the Service, email notification, and an updated date on this page. Material changes may require your affirmative consent before taking effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of modified Terms constitutes acceptance of those modifications. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service before the changes take effect.

20. General Provisions

  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ResumeOG regarding your use of the Service.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision will not be considered a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
  • Force Majeure: We are not liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or third-party service outages.
